BOULDER, Colo. (April 16, 2025) – Kristen Kish, Emmy-nominated television host of Top Chef, Escoffier Chef-in-Residence and author, announced the winners of the 10th Young Escoffier High School Culinary Scholarship Competition at the recent event held at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder. Here she’s seen interacting with the student competitors.
Fifty-five students made up the 12 high school teams that competed in a 60-minute challenge, using a predetermined list of ingredients to create three classic French dishes: Chicken Fricassée, Rice Pilaf, and Niçoise Salad. Teams were judged by Escoffier chef instructors on sanitation, safety, teamwork, timing, technique, plate presentation, and creativity.
Young Escoffier first-, second- and third-place winning teams here:
First place (bottom): Ponderosa High School (CO)–Each team member received a $3,000 scholarship to apply toward a culinary education at Escoffier.
Second (top left): Laramie High School (WY)—Each team member received a $2,000 scholarship to apply toward a culinary education at Escoffier.
Third (top right): Brush High School (CO)–Each team member received a $1,500 scholarship to apply toward a culinary education at Escoffier.
Every participant received a $500 scholarship to Escoffier contributing to a total of $60,000 in scholarships awarded.
